Community Bus Services

Most counties in New Jersey operate Community Paratransit services which supplement public transit bus and rail by proving more flexible transportation options. Community Paratransit providers use smaller lift equipped vans and minibuses and may operate modified fixed route, curb to curb, or door to door services. Many of these services require advance reservations, have eligibility criteria and may be restricted to senior citizens, disabled residents and/or social services clients. Community Paratransit services typically provide transportation to medical appointments, shopping/personal locations, nutrition sites, veterans' hospitals/clinics and employment or job training facilities. Services may be limited to County residents and trips may be limited to locations within the respective county.
